I had the good fortune to first work with Charlie McClain on the buildout of the Broadway Metro 4-plex Cinema in 2012, while he was in the employ of Mcintyre Construction Inc. This was my first project of any scale, and Charlie was an invaluable asset, not only taking the time to educate and advise me as I navigated unfamiliar territory, but also helping to develop creative solutions to various roadblocks encountered along the way.

Since then, I've engaged McClain Construction on several significantly larger projects, and each time Charlie and his team's collaborative approach has yielded incredible results. I can't overstate the value that each member of the team brings to the table. Working on site throughout most of the projects, I've spent a good deal of time with everyone on the ground level, and to a person each team member is accessible, communicative, and reflects the same values of collaboration, integrity and attention to detail.

McClain Construction has delivered above and beyond expectations on several major projects over the past decade, including the expansion of the Broadway Metro to include three larger auditoriums, and the renovation of the former Bijou Art Cinemas space into a new venue in the historic Wilcox Building. The Metro expansion project included elaborate solutions for seismic upgrades as a result of removing the ground level floor for stadium seating, various custom fabrications for concessions and projection needs, complicated state-of-the-art air-handling solutions, and even functional artistic flourishes in the lobby and exterior facade. Likewise the Wilcox Building space required a delicate touch and thoughtful approach to completing the necessary upgrades while preserving and complementing the character and style of the building's 1920s mission-style architecture. In every case, Charlie was attentive to detail and amenable to changes in scope along the way, helping to develop ideas and approaches that always served to prioritize and elevate the project. Both jobs were completed under pressure of a short timeline, and required deft choreography of sub-contractors and materials delivery, which Charlie and his staff invariably handled with ease.

In terms of value, reliability, customer service, and commitment to their craft, McClain Construction is in a class of its own. I can confidently recommend their services without reservation, and can't imagine hiring anyone else for any future project, large or small.

McClain Consulting and Construction (MC&C) has just completed its construction management and general contractor services in support of the Blachly School District's ~$1.9M seismic retrofit. Led by Charlie McClain (S. McClain Construction was the general contractor for our project that entailed moving our existing office headquarters, cryogenics and manufacturing facilities - once located in Eugene, to our current 4-acre location in Springfield in 2020

McClain was successful in their bid and Industrial Source is extremely satisfied with the quality, workmanship and professionalism McClain Construction and its employees and subcontractors maintained throughout all aspects of the project

The 2020 Company move consisted of a great deal of site work and underground utilities. McClain construction was instrumental in keeping our operations running through the move and build out. Our relocation consisted of moving our warehouse, front office, retail, customer service, administration and corporate offices. We also relocated our cylinder filling operations as well as our distribution and bulk cryogenic storage systems.

Construction of the project was completed through the winter in sometimes less than ideal weather conditions. Still, the project was completed on time and under a very aggressive schedule.

Regular site meetings were held with McClain Construction and any concerns were promptly addressed by the onsite supervisor. The quality of the work performed was very good with and deficiencies quickly resolved to our satisfaction. We were able to maintain business operations during the course of the project because of value engineering, the scope and a phased schedule that McClain Construction developed with their team. McClain Construction and all their sub-contractors adhered to our internal safety and GMP rules.

It was a pleasure working with the McClain team and a special thankyou to Charlie McClain for leading the project successfully. Charlie always put Industrial Source first.
